Song of the Week

Pumped Up Kicks - Foster The People

Why this song for Song of the Week? Well...

This song was Foster The People's debut single and was one of the most popular songs of 2011. It has the right to be... as according to Mark Foster the lyrics describe the "homicidal thoughts of a troubled youth."
The issue of youth violence is a matter close to the group as Foster was bullied in high school and the bassist Cubbie Fink has a cousin who survived the Columbine High School Massacre.
So Pumped Up Kicks is another meaningful song with a background story.
A unique way to start off the year... think about the state of your own mental health.
